Understand liquidity

Chapter 1 · Lesson 13 min

What is liquidity?

Liquidity is buying and selling interest around a price. LiquiCharts shows where it is concentrated above and below the current price in the data we track. Brighter bands and levels mean more liquidity.

The squares mark liquidity levels. Bigger, brighter squares mean more liquidity. The orange line marks the level at 1.11450. The candles show price.

The numbers in each pane title are for the latest candle. Move over the chart to read the values of any other candle.

Buy/Sell % shows how many traders are buying and selling this pair. You can see when many traders are on the same side.

Charts go down to 1 minute. Price keeps moving. Liquidity and sentiment usually stay similar within each 15-minute period. Available timeframes depend on your plan. Free plans show liquidity with a delay.

The candles show price. The liquidity layer shows where orders are concentrated. They show different information on the same chart.

The data shows the market now and in the past. It does not tell you the next price move. Read the note at the end of this page.
