Chapter 1 · Lesson 24 min
Read the heatmap
The heatmap shows liquidity over time. Each band shows liquidity at a price. Brighter means more liquidity.
Each column is one candle. The coloured bands show liquidity at each price over time; brighter means more liquidity. The candles show price.
Move the pointer over the chart to read the price and values of any candle. The right-hand end is the latest candle.
Both sides use the same colours by default. To change them, open Chart settings, then Liquidity.
A level marks one price. A zone groups nearby levels into a price area. Merge nearby levels combines nearby prices into one band. A larger setting groups more levels; a smaller setting shows more detail.
A band may fade after price passes through it. Look for where a bright band ends near a price move.
Look for bright bands across several candles. One bright spot gives you less information.
